Parina Vasilopoulou is a Founding Partner and Project Coordinator at PERA. She is an architect living in New York and Athens and her work focuses on the potential of urban manufacturing and how makerspaces may transform cities, social growth, education and innovation.
In the past she has worked in Greece, Switzerland and the United States, where she has been involved in various projects ranging from exhibition design to large residential buildings, and has extensive experience in construction management. Parina has also led international workshops for professionals focusing on community engagement and learning. She graduated from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and holds an MSc in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University in New York, where she was was a Fulbright Scholar.
Sofia Avramopoulou is a Project Coordinator at PERA. She graduated from the School of Architecture of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and University of California, Berkeley, as a Fulbright Foundation, Leventis Foundation and Gerondelis Foundation scholar. She has professional experience in Greece, U.S.A and in Switzerland as a member of an interdisciplinary research & design group of ETH, Zurich, focusing on urban development & social infrastructure design. She has participated in international projects in collaboration with International Organizations, Municipalities and other Authorities. She is a member of the BMW Foundation Responsible Leaders Network and she is a Humanity in Action Fellow.
Iannis Kandyliaris is a Founding Partner and Creative Director at PERA. He combines his experience in leading the design of a wide range of high-profile international projects that span residential, industrial, commercial, museum, office, institutional and transportation buildings and spaces, as well as urban design, product design, exhibition design and real estate consulting and strategy, in developing cutting-edge designs
Previously, Iannis has been a Senior Designer at BIG, where he has led the design of a number of projects, including the Phoenix Observation Tower, the Telus Sky Tower and the Pier 6 Viewing Platform at Brooklyn Bridge Park. In 2016 he led the design of the exhibit and the accompanying book "Hot to Cold: An Odyssey of Architectural Adaptation", which displayed the past five years of BIG's work at the National Building Museum in Washington DC. And before that an Associate Principal at Brooklyn-based SO-IL, contributing to and leading numerous award winning and widely published projects, including the Pole Dance installation at the MoMA PS1, the Kukje Art Gallery in Seoul, and the Frieze Art Fair venue in New York. Iannis graduated from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and holds a Master in Architecture from the Harvard Graduate School of Design, where he has also worked as a researcher in design innovation.
